Dibrugarh: On the occasion of the 77th Republic Day, Assam Rifles paid solemn homage to the late Havildar Hangpan Dada, Ashok Chakra (Posthumous), through a wreath-laying ceremony at the Hangpan Dada Memorial in Borduria, Tirap district, Arunachal Pradesh.
The dignified ceremony was attended by officers, junior and subordinate officers of Assam Rifles, along with members of the civil administration.
The event saw the participation of the MLA of Borduria-Bogapani Constituency, Zila Panchayat Chairman, representatives of Arunachal Pradesh Police, and other civil officials, reflecting collective gratitude and deep respect for the supreme sacrifice of the brave son of the soil.
Rich tributes were paid to Hangpan Dada, whose indomitable courage, selfless service, and ultimate sacrifice continue to inspire generations. The wreath-laying ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the valour and dedication of the armed forces in safeguarding the nationโs sovereignty and integrity.
As part of the commemorative programme, local school children and family members visited the memorial museum, where they were sensitised to the life, achievements, and heroic legacy of Havildar Hangpan Dada. The visit aimed to instil a sense of patriotism, respect, and awareness among younger generations about the sacrifices made by the nationโs bravehearts.
The event reaffirmed Assam Riflesโ enduring commitment to honouring its martyrs and strengthening bonds with the local community while upholding the highest traditions of service, sacrifice, and nation-building.
