He clarified that he is a core member of Somlung Mossang’s team and has consistently supported the incumbent independent MLA since the 2019 Arunachal Pradesh assembly election.
Mura firmly denied claims made by “antagonistic groups” on social media suggesting a shift in his support towards Doni Nich, another aspirant for the Bordumsa-Diyun seat.
He called these claims “fabricated” and intended to “malign” his image before the upcoming elections.

Mura, who also served as the vice president of the Central Campaign Committee for MLA Mossang, emphasized that he has not joined Nich’s camp as depicted in media reports.
“Our Adivasi community and I wholeheartedly backed MLA Somlung Mossang in the 2019 elections,” Mura stated. “We continue to work tirelessly to secure a landslide victory for him again in 2024,” he said.
Mura urged the local media outlet responsible for the misinformation to rectify the situation. He warned of “legal steps under the IT Act and IPC” if the issue is not addressed, as it has damaged his reputation and caused distrust among his colleagues.
Mura declared, “Let me be clear. I remain firmly committed to the Mossang camp. I, along with the community and team leaders, are working relentlessly to ensure a record-breaking victory for MLA Mossang in the upcoming elections. There is no truth to claims of me joining any other camp, including Nich’s.”
Interestingly, senior leaders from Mossang’s independent team expressed surprise upon learning about the online rumors. Aiong Singpho, Co-Convenor of the Central Campaign Committee, dismissed the reports as “a serious joke.”
“Arjun Mura, our Vice Chairman, has been working tirelessly alongside us to carry forward MLA Mossang’s vision in the lead-up to the elections,” Singpho asserted.
