Members of the Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) fraternity under the banner of ‘RGU Explore Arunachal (RGUEA)’ recently visited Pakke Kesang, Pappu and Seppa as a part of its goodwill mission outreach programme.

In Seppa, the members visited the One Life Foundation School run by RGU alumni in the outskirts of the township and the same was formally inaugurated by RGU controller of examinations in-charge Dr Nani Tamang Jose.

The school is catering to the needs of the poor villagers and orphans, a press release informed.

Speaking on the occasion, RGU joint registrar, Dr David Pertin lauded the noble effort of alumnus Krishna Tajo to bring quality education to the less privileged populace and pledged to sponsor one orphan of the school.

The visiting members donated some study materials, sweets and also made some financial contribution for school signboards. The members assured that they will visit the school annually and also pledged support through RGU’s adoption schemes in due course.

The RGUEA will explore a few more places soon and launch a programme on self-help basis for the benefit of the society and in alignment with ‘Give Back to Society’ initiative launched by the Governor and chief rector of the university recently.

The team also visited the Government College Seppa and took stock of the preparations made by college for the university examinations, the release added.
