Badminton Tournament

With the theme “Unity through Sports”, the first edition of Joram-Talo Officers’ Friendly Badminton Tournament-2018 got off to a rousing start here at the MLA Cottage Badminton Stadium on Saturday.

The two-day tournament is being organized in an effort to strengthen the bonhomie between Joram and Talo villages of Yachuli Constituency under Lower Subansiri district, said organizing chairman Joram Silo.

“The dwellers of Joram and Talo have been living peacefully since time immemorial; however, we have hardly had a chance to come together for some occasion. This badminton tournament is a small effort to initiate the same and also increase the number of people taking part in community sport,” organizing secretary Nich Bapu said.

In all 52 players including state chief information commissioner Dr Joram Begi, Papum Pare deputy commissioner Dr Joram Beda, Yachuli ADC J T Obi, Soil and Water Conversation director Joram Puppa, RWD superintending engineer N L Kamin and Hydropower Development Corporation of Arunachal Pradesh Ltd general manager Toko Onuj are participating in competition which would see its finals being held on Sunday.

The event is being held under the supervision of tournament referee Taniya Yasap.
