Arunachal Governor With Army Chief at New Delhi (2)

Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig (Dr) B D Mishra (Rtd) met the Army Chief General Bipin Rawat, at New Delhi during his official visit on Wednesday.

They discussed about the national security issues related to the state of Arunachal Pradesh. The Governor, who has visited the border posts recently, shared his observations with the Army Chief.

The Army Chief assured the Governor of the top operational readiness of the Indian Army deployed on the borders in Arunachal Pradesh to take on any challenges to national security.

Rawat also assured the Governor that the Indian Army will always continue to provide all kind of humanitarian help to the civil population residing in the border area.

The Chief of the Army Staff made a recommendation that the government must provide all amenities to the people living in the border area so that they do not abandon their villages and move away from the border.

He termed the people of border villages as the national watch assets. The Governor apprised the Army Chief of the plans which the Arunachal Pradesh Government has started to develop the border villages.

The Governor also apprised the Chief Army Staff of the confidence building measures being put in place to encourage the border villages to live on there.

While conveying the goodwill of the people of the State for the pre recruitment rallies in different parts of the State, the Governor emphasized on enlisting of youths to which the Army Chief agreed to do his best to the optimum level.

As a good will gesture, the Governor also presented a traditional Mishmi hat and a body protection jacket to the Army Chief.
