A team of 26 athletes from Arunachal Pradesh will participate in the first Khelo India school games in the national capital. The athletes will be accompanied by 11 officials.
Some of the events that the state will participate in are judo, archery, boxing, weightlifting and badminton.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the first edition of Khelo India school games on January 31. Sports and Youth Affairs Joint Director, Gumnya Karbak is the chef-de-mission. Khelo India is an initiative of the Government of India for the development of sports.
Sports Authority of Arunachal Pradesh Chairman Bamang Tago, gave a pep talk to the participating team at the Directorate of Secondary Education in Itanagar, on January 26.
Tago advised the athletes to maintain strict discipline and sportsmen spirit throughout the event. He encouraged them to perform according to their potential and bring laurels to the state by winning medals.
