A three-day workshop on women empowerment organized by the women wing of the Indigenous Faith & Culture Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAF) began at the Bharat Scouts & Guides training centre in Naharlagun on Saturday with a clarion call to all the women of the State to be engine in preserving the indigenous culture of the State.

Addressing the inaugural session, IFCSAP president Tajum Tasung termed the womenfolk as the ‘torchbearers’ of the society and urged them to continue their contributions in maintaining the culture of the indigenous society of the State.

Tajum also urged the women to fight social evils and taboos that are prevailing in the society.

Earlier, IFCSAP women wing president Maya Murtem informed about the objective of the workshop, while women wing secretary Yamek Mize narrated the history of the IFCSAP.

Around 200 women from various districts are participating in the workshop.
