Guwahati: Relentless monsoon rains have caused severe damage across Arunachal Pradesh, with a key highway linking Manmao and Changlang collapsing at multiple locations, disrupting connectivity and leaving several areas vulnerable to isolation.
The road cave-in occurred following days of intense rainfall that triggered landslides, flash floods, and soil erosion across Changlang district. Officials said sections of the highway suffered extensive damage as swollen streams and runoff weakened the road embankments, rendering the route unsafe for vehicular movement.
