The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig (retired) BD Mishra on Wednesday distributed 6000 solar lights among villagers and Gaon Burhas of 30 villages of Changlang district at the 13 Assam Rifles Cantonment at Jairampur in Changlang district on Wednesday.

The solar lights were distributed under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Plan.

In his address at the solar lights distribution ceremony, Governor Mishra appreciated the zeal and commitment of the officers and all ranks of Assam Rifles.

The Arunachal Pradesh Governor felicitated the Assam Rifles officers for their good works as the ‘Friends of the North East People’.

The Governor expressed his hope that benevolent actions under ‘Assam Rifles Civic Action Plan’ will further reinforce and promote goodwill amongst the people towards the security forces.

Earlier, the students of Assam Rifles Public School, Jairampur presented a cultural programme, which was followed by Assam Rifles Pipe Band display.

First Lady of the State, Neelam Misra, local MLA and Parliamentary Secretary, Legal Metrology and Consumer Affairs, Laisam Simai, DIG (East)  Apur Bitin, Brig SK Saul, Commander 25 Sector, Col JB Sharma, Commandant 13 AR, Deputy Commissioner W Khimhun, SP  JK Lego, District heads of department, families of the Assam Rifles personnel and public were present on the occasion.
