Dibrugarh: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik on Tuesday presented the Governor’s Citation to the 11th Battalion of the Assam Rifles at Lok Bhavan in Itanagar.
The Commandant of the battalion, Col Vivek Tripathi, Sena Medal, received the citation along with Subedar Major Lekh Raj and Rifleman Neelesh Kumar on behalf of all ranks.
Parnaik praised the 11 Assam Rifles for its exceptional professionalism, effective counter-insurgency operations, and humanitarian support to civil authorities and local communities.
He said the battalion’s constant vigilance and robust security measures have ensured peace and boosted public confidence in its area of responsibility.
The Governor noted that the unit’s Sadbhavana activities have strengthened trust and harmony between security forces and local residents.
Congratulating the commandant and personnel, Parnaik expressed confidence that the battalion would continue to uphold high standards of service and dedication.
He said the contributions of the armed forces support the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ and reinforce the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ in Arunachal Pradesh.
Despite challenges, the 11 Assam Rifles has played a key role in promoting peace, stability, and development in the state, he added.
