Adding another feather to its cap, the e-Cabinet project implemented by the State Department of IT and Communication of Arunachal Pradesh was adjudged winner of the Technology Sabha Award under document management category in the 24th edition of Technology Sabha organized by the Indian Express Group in Vishakhapatnam or Vizag of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.
Neelam Yapin Tana, Director of Information Technology and Communication and Namgey Wangmu, Project Officer, received the award on behalf of the department.
E-Cabinet was launched by Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on February 7, making Arunachal Pradesh the first State in the Northeast to implement e-Cabinet solution for the Cabinet members.
Using this system, the Cabinet members can access the Cabinet notes before the meeting.
The entire business of the Cabinet can be conducted using the e-Cabinet, a powerful tool that the State government plans to use to streamline its decision-making process.
Implemented by the Information Technology and Communication Department, the solution lets ministers prepare for Cabinet meetings, conduct them and review minutes without paper.
The e-Cabinet solution gives remote access for viewing Cabinet notes and circulating them well in advance for proper analysis and feedback.
“The system is a multi-user secure solution that keeps relevant information organised and updated in real time, giving ministers a clear overview of each item under discussion,” Wangmu said.
