Arunachal Pradesh’s Liromoba MLA Nyamar Karbak and deputy commissioner Swetika Sachan on Wednesday interacted with the shuttlers of West Siang who have been selected to participate in the ensuing Dorjee Khandu Memorial State Badminton Championship-2019.

The tournament is scheduled to be held in Itanagar from this Friday.

Addressing the interaction programme organized at the DC’s office here, Karbak and Sachan while sharing some words of advices asked the players to give more stress on games and sports for a bright future.

Highlighting the reservation policy of the State Government for the meritorious sportspersons, Karbak said that besides, attractive cash prizes, posts up to the rank of DSP are reserved for the sportspersons on the basis of their performance in the national and international events and Olympic Games.

The MLA also announced a sum of Rs 1 lakh for the participating team’s expensed whilst their stay at Itanagar.

DC Sachan on the other hand stressed on recruiting good coaches for the budding sportspersons in different fields.

The vice president and assistant general secretary of West Siang District Badminton Association Yompe Ado and Lee Sora respectively also wished the players well.
