The All Arunachal Pradesh Anganwadi Workers’ & Helpers’ Union (AAPAW&HU) East Siang Unit on Monday carried out a sit in dharna.
The dharna was staged in front of office of deputy director, ICDS, Pasighat and also at office of CDPO, Pasighat segment.

They demanded for early and timely release of six months pending honourarium.
Similar protests were also staged across the state on Monday.
The workers have also threatened to boycott work if their demands are not met.

The AAPAW&HU East Siang Pasighat segment Anganwadi workers marched toward office of ICDS, East Siang and CDPO office, Pasighat.
The union showed their dismay and displeasure over State Government’s failure to disburse the pending honorarium despite passing of six months.
The union also alleged that, the required funds and central’s share has already been released in phasewise manner up to August.
But the concerned department of Women and Child Development, government of Arunachal Pradesh is delaying to release the honourarium for reason best known to them.
While speaking on the sidelines of the dharna and march, the AAPAW&HU East Siang Unit led by president, Maklek Jamoh and general secretary, Obi Moyong said that, hundreds of Anganwadi workers of the district are facing financial problems due to non receipt of six months honourarium till date.
Both Jamoh and Moyong have appealed the concerned department head at Itanagar to have pity on them and release the pending honorarium soon.
When asked on the petition submitted by the AAPAW&HU East Siang Unit, deputy director, ICDS, Ponung Ering Angu said that, she is forwarding the letter to the directorate.
She also added that the delay for release of honourarium is may be due to delay in getting financial concurrence in the finance department.
