Arms, ammunition, and explosives seized from three hideouts in Manipur.

Imphal: A combined team from state and central forces in their continuous raid cum operations at three hideouts of miscreants, unearthed a large number of arms, ammunition, and explosives in two districts in Manipur on Thursday, the police said on Friday.

In their first operation in the northern A. Mongbung ridge in Kangpokpi district several items including a Bolt action Improvised .303 Rifle, two Bolt action .303 Rifles, 2 12-bore Single Barrel Guns, four HE-36 Hand grenades (Can be used as explosives), one range improvised Mortar (Pumpi), two M/ Set (Boafeng), and one Mark-III A2 Grenade were recovered.

During the operation, a sniffer dog was pressed into services.

 In another operation at the Govajang hideout of the same district, the security forces seized one Pt. 22 Rifle with a Magazine, one Single Bore Barrel Rifle, two 9mm pistols with a magazine, one 7.65mm Pistol with a Magazine, one HE-36 Hand Grenade w/o detonator, and one Chinese Grenade.

In the southern Kakching district, Police commandos, 46 Assam Rifles, and 131 Battalion of BSF seized some explosives from the Waikhong Louphuching area under the Waikhong police station.

The explosives including one 81mm misfired rusted mortar shell, two hand grenades, and two smoke shells were recovered during a cordon and search operation. The seized items have been handed over to the Manipur police
