A team of Dibrugarh Police led by Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Surajit Singh Panesar on Tuesday arrested two more accused in the multi-crore Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) cash-for-job scam.
Vikash Kumar Pincha, Superintendent of Taxes, Dhubri and Manas Pratim Haloi, Superintendent of Taxes, Morigaon were arrested by Dibrugarh Police in connection with the Dibrugarh PS Case No 936/16.

Both the officials are now kept at the Special Branch of the Assam Police in Kahilipara, Guwahati.
“We have arrested both of them in connection with the APSC cash-for-job scam because on the basis of several evidences against the duo. We have started our interrogating them,” Paneswar informed.

It may be mentioned that on January 4, 2018, Assam Police filed chargesheet against 25 suspended officials in the APSC cash-for-job scam.
While 24 officers, who were serving in the Assam Civil Service (ACS), Assam Police Service (APS) and allied services, are currently lodged in Guwahati Central Jail and one accused has been declared as absconder. A lookout notice has been issued in the State to nab absconding official Rakesh Gupta.
Dibrugarh police filed the chargesheet against the officials at the Special Judge’s court in Guwahati.
The officers accused in the case are Sunayana Aideu, Pallabi Sarma Choudhury, Hemanta Hillol Saikia, Gitali Dolley, Kamal Deb Nath, Debajit Bora, Jatindra Prasad Duwarah, Kunal Das, Dilip Kalita, Dipak Khanikar, Sudipta Goswami Bhattacharya, Rumi Saikia, Badrul Islam Choudhury, Jyotirmoy Adhikari, Rajarshi Sen Deka, Daithun Borgoyari, Raju Saha, Harshajyoti Bora, Amarjit Das, Anirudha Roy, Nishamoni Deka, Himangshu Choudhury and Jayanta Kr Nath.
Police enclosed with the chargesheet the details of the forensic reports of their handwritings and answer scripts.
On the other hand, the Special Judge Court on January 4, 2018 once again rejected the bail plea of arrested official Nisha Moni Deka. The Assam government on January 20, 2018 suspended arrested ACS officer Nishamoni Deka.
Deka was arrested in connection with APSC cash-for-job scam on December 19, 2017 after she surrendered before the police in Guwahati.
