The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced four candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections likely to be held next month.

The candidates include, Peter Aiborlang Dohkrud from Mawlai, the biggest constituency in Meghalaya, Dorass Ramsiej from Mawkyrwat constituency, Wonder Lapang from Umsning constituency and Debrict Binone from Nongpoh constituency.

The names were announced by AAP Meghalaya state president, Wanshwa Nongtdu, here on Monday.

The AAP will contest from 35 seats out of 60 seats in state Assembly.

Claiming that the ruling Congress is almost finished in the state and the BJP would have no impact in Meghalaya, AAP leaders said that in the upcoming elections, people would turn to AAP as an alternative party.
