Incidents of crime like dacoity and loot are on the rise in Biswanath district of Assam lately.
Just a few days back an incident of daring loot took place at a petrol pump in the district.
An identical incident of crime took place at Ambari in Biswanath on Monday night.
Unidentified gunmen looted cash worth several lakhs at gunpoint from Kishore Trading at Pabhoi Road in Biswanath on Monday night.
The dacoits also took away one laptop and several valuable items from the business concern.
The two miscreants came in a bike wielding lethal weapons.
The incident took place when the proprietor was closing down his shop for the night.
Police have rushed to the spot immediately after the crime and investigation into the whole matter is still going on.
However, there is no clue as yet of the two motorcycle borne miscreants.
Meanwhile, locals have expressed shock and apprehension at the role of police in providing security to the life and property of the common people.
