S Chanu of Arunachal Pradesh fetched a bronze for her State on day four of the Youth and Junior National Weightlifting Championship at Nagpur in Maharashtra on Wednesday.

She bagged the medal in the women’s junior 64 kg category by lifting a total of 179 kgs (snatch 79 kgs + clean & jerk 100 kgs), reports The Arunachal Times quoting the Arunachal Weightlifting Association.
The gold medal in this category was won by G Lalitha of Andhra Pradesh. She lifted 85 kgs in snatch and 112 kgs in clean & jerk for a total of 197 kgs.
Manipur’s Roshilata Devi won the silver with a total lift of 185 kgs (snatch 85 kgs + clean & jerk 100 kgs).
Another participant from Arunachal Pradesh in the same weight category was Liza Kamsha.
Participating in the boys’ 81 kg category, first-timers Taba Dosum and Baro Natung failed to win any medal.
With the addition of the bronze, Arunachal’s medal tally in the championship rose to seven on day four.
