The NSCN (IM) on Saturday said the last round of formal talks led by its general secretary Th. Muivah, with the government of India had not gone down well.

The meeting was held in Delhi last week with the Centre’s interlocutor for Naga peace talks RN Ravi, who took over as the Nagaland governor on August 1.

A release issued by its ministry of information and publicity, the outfit said it would strive to conclude the ongoing Indo-Naga political negotiation honourably.

It asserted that it would uphold the August 3, 2015 framework agreement signed with the government of India and not allow any adversaries to confuse and divide the Nagas.

The outfit affirmed this during a joint council meeting of its steering committee, council of kilonsers (ministers), tatars (MPs), heads of departments and brigadiers and above at council headquarters, Hebron, on Friday.

The release said the meeting was held in the backdrop of the last formal talks held with the government of India and took note of the prevailing political situation.

The NSCN (IM) said it was sufficiently aware of the “divisive policy of the enemy” within and outside.

“The NSCN is profoundly convinced of the absolute righteousness of the Naga national struggle in defense of their historical right over their land and the political right to determine their future, despite all vociferous noise to cause confusion among the Naga people desperately designed by the adversaries and the deep elements among the Nagas, who are dancing to the tune of their political masters,” the release said.

The outfit made its stand clear that it will “stand true to the end” till the Nagas achieve an honourable solution to the Indo-Naga political conflict.

“Come what may, the NSCN shall unwaveringly stand on the Naga national decision,” it added.
