The Aizawl FC will take on Bengaluru FC in the AFC Cup group stage match at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Sarusajai of Guwahati later on Thursday.

Bengaluru FC, however, also look good with possessing a fine form as it were the first team to qualify for ISL semi-finals this season by ending as table-toppers with 40 points from 18 matches.

During a pre-match media briefing in Guwahati on Wednesday evening, Aizawl FC coach, Santosh Kashyap said he is playing with ‘our best team’.

He also said that the team has a young squad and will try to do their best in the match.

Bengaluru FC coach Albert Roca, acknowledged that Aizawl FC is a ‘very good team and are full of energy’.

Notably this will be the first encounter between Aizawl FC and Bengaluru FC.

Aizawl FC is riding high after their recent win against Chennaiyin FC in the Super Cup.

Aizawl FC will treat the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Sarusajai as their home turf.

The Aizawl team will play another two matches in Guwahati apart from Thursday’s encounter.

Aizawl FC will take on Abahoni Dhaka Limited of Bangladesh on April 11 and Radiant Sports Club of Maldives on May 16 next.

Notably Bengaluru FC was last year’s runner-up in the Indian Super League.

Thursday’s match between Aizawl FC and Bengaluru FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Sarusajai starts at 6.30 pm.
