Dhemaji district administration is taking all out efforts for smooth conduct of ceremonial inauguration of much hyped Bogibeel Bridge at Kareng chapori on the north bank of Brahmaputra river on December 25.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Dhemaji RA Korati, who addressed a press meet at office conference hall on Friday, said the district administration has prepared a road map to reach the venue of inauguration programme.

Thus, approach routes have been opened for reaching the venue, while it has set up three car parking places at different locations. Moreover, to avoid traffic congestion, the authority has framed rules for traffic regulation for the day.

As a part of security measure for the Prime Minister’s visit at Kareng ghat, the administration is barring unpermitted entry into the venue. As such, carrying of water bottle, umbrella and hand bags are strictly prohibited in and around the meeting venue.

The Bogibeel Road Bridge will be keeping open for foot passengers for the day. But, the authority will restrict plying of vehicles thereon except ambulance and other emergency services.

The ferry service along water route between Kareng Chapori and Bogibeel ghat will on halt for the day. The meeting venue at Kareng-ghat is being cordoned off by adequate security personnel, who are keeping sharpe vigil on the suspected movements.

The administration also engaged man and machines for construction for construction of pandal besides entry and exit roads at the meeting venue on war footing manner, where more than hundred labours are working round the clock.

“Security measure as per SPG norms has been enforced in the area and the entire security scenario is being observed and monitored central agencies”, the DC informed.
