The District Level Aadhaar Implementation Committee (DLAIC) of Kamrup Metropolitan district was held on Saturday in the office chamber of Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman, DLAIC, Kamrup Metropolitan District, M Angamathu to discuss various issues relating to the smooth execution of Aadhaar enrolment exercise in the district.

Barnali Sharma, District Development Commissioner cum member secretary, DLAIC, Kamrup (M), Deputy Commissioner of Police (Security) Dr Bedanta Madhab Rajkhowa were present in the meeting along with officials from zila parishad, National Informatics Centre (NIC), Kamrup (M), PWD (Bldg) and Banks.

It was decided in the meeting that Aadhaar enrolment would be carried out only in the 42 numbers of designated place to be notified by DLAIC. The designated place means government and government undertaking institutions or offices. The chairperson of DLAIC, M Angamuthu upheld the responsibility of the police administration in the enrolment process.

He stressed upon enforcing adequate security arrangement in all the designated enrolment centres. He also emphasized on organizing awareness meeting regarding Aadhaar in the blocks, circle offices and police station level.

It was also decided that a meeting of circle with police stations in their areas along with nagarik committees to be convened immediately. He also stretched enrolment centres to be established in the 400 bank branches of various banks in the city. For wide publicity of the enrolment centres the public should be sensitized. Deputy Commissioner Dr Angamuthu ordered to organize training programmes for all personnel to be engaged in the enrolment process.

A district level Aadhaar implementation committee (DLAIC) is already constituted with Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup (M) as Chairman, district development Commissioner as member secretary, Commissioner of Police, CEO Zila Parisad and six other officials as members. The AADHAR implementation will be expedited in the district very soon.
