Maharana Pratap Udyapan Samity observed the 478th birth anniversary of Maharana Pratap Singh and paid tribute to the great warrior with a brief programme at JK Kedia Smriti Bhawan in Hojai on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion advisor of MPUS Byomkesh Bhattacharjee said, “Maharana Pratap was the greatest Rajput warrior, he never inclined towards Mughal kings for the respect and integrity of our motherland.”
Bhattacharjee said people should draw inspirations from the life of such great legends and work in unison to resist communal forces both from within and outside who are trying to destroy the social fabric of the nation.
He said, “Loss of culture means loss of identity, our young generations should be made aware through this type of meaningful programme about our history otherwise one-day our rich culture will vanish.”
President of MPUS Biswajit Choudhury said,”Our main objective of celebrating this day was to remember the great legends who had sacrificed their entire life for the safeguard of our motherland and apprise youth of today about the golden history of our nation.”
Hojai deputy commissioner Manvendra Pratap Singh paid floral tribute in front of the portrait of the great Rajput warrior Maharana Pratap Singh.
Though the attendance of people in the programme was thin due to heavy showers, the organizers showed exuberance and affirmed to continue organizing such event to make the society aware of the history of nation.
