Gajraj Corps

Indian Army  Gajraj Corps  at Tezpur successfully conducted skill development training of second batch wherein, 45 trainees completed training at Army Skill Training Centre (ASTC).

They were awarded Skill Certificate at a Ceremony organised on May 5 as part of “Aajevika And Kaushal Vikas Diwas”.

Highlighting the efforts of Army in promoting the existing skill set of women through employment by skill development. In order to develop skills and build entrepreneurship amongst women of the country in general said defence spokesperson Lt Col Harsh Wardhan Pande .

He said that, Amanpreet Kaur  Sangha, Zonal President AWWA, Gajraj Corps presented certificates to successful candidates in two job skills, viz, Sewing Machine Operator and Assistant Beauty Therapist. The Skill Courses at ASTCs of Indian Army are conducted under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).

Vocational Training Centres have been upgraded as part of initiative by Directorate of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV) and Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship to empower Army and Ex-Servicemen spouses, wards and widows to enhance their skills and become an integral part of the Nation’s skilled human resource.
