On the first day of Rongali Bihu, in two separate road mishaps on National Highway 37 in Bokakhat area under Golaghat district, three youths were injured, including two seriously, on Sunday.

In the afternoon on Sunday, a motorcycle-borne youth losing control over his bike hit in the backside of a Swift Dzire vehicle at Xapjuri near Bokakhat town.

In the incident, motorcycle-borne youth, who has been identified as Pankaj Gogoi, who hails from Xapjuri of Bokakhat area, was seriously injured.

The injured youth was immediately rushed to the Bokakhat civil hospital.

After administering first aid, seriously injured Pankaj was referred to the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH).

On the other hand, another road mishap took place on the National Highway-37 at Numaligarh in Bokakhat.

In the incident, a Scooty, which was coming towards Bokakhat from Komargaon, was mowed down by a vehicle. In the incident, Raja Sen and Kamaleswar Ramchiary, who were travelling on the Scooty, were injured. The injured were immediately taken to the Bokakhat civil hospital.

The condition of one of the injured has been stated to be serious.
