A two-day-long 1st All Assam Tong-IL-Moo-Do championship 2019 kicked off from Saturday at Kokrajhar Govt Higher Secondary & Middle Primary School ground in Kokrajhar district.
Speaking to reporters, J Basumatary, CHD of BTC sports welfare, said that nearly 200 participants from different seven districts of the state like Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Udalguri, Goalpara and Kamrup have participated in the championship.
She also said that this type of sports competition gives opportunity to select expert and talented sports stars for their career and the boys and girls will be benefited from such competitions.
In the first day of the competition, the president of the Assam Tong-IL-Moo-Do Association, Sewly Mohilary hoisted the association’s flag and kick-started the championship.
The president of Tong-IL-Moo-Do Federation of India, Sudhir Kumar Malik and secretary Satish Kumar Choudhury also attended the inaugural programme.
