With Rongali bihu rapidly approaching, the Pathsala Rongali Bihu Xanmilani is gearing up to celebrate its 38th ‘Pathsala Rongali Bihu’ at Bajali Higher Secondary School field.

The bihu celebration will be held with a three-day long programme on 15, 22 and 23 April (1, 8, 9 Bohag, in Assamese calendar).

A meeting in this regard was held in Pathsala, Azad Bhawan, recently.

In this meeting a celebration committee was formed with Parag Barman as President, Diganta Talukdar and Rituparna Choudhury as Joint Secretary’s.

The Bihu utsav celebration will begin with the hoisting of the bihu flag with various cultural programmes on April 15.

State level Bihu dance competition will begin from the evening of April 22.

Various artists will perform at the cultural programme including heartthrob of Assam Zubeen Garg on April 23.

Bohag bihu one of the major festival of Assam is commonly known as Rongali bihu and celebrated during the month of April. It is the most popular bihu which celebrates the advent of the Assamese New year and the coming of spring.

Rongali bihu is celebrated with various cultural and religious programmes.
