Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s visit to India will focus on economic agenda, according to his close aide, The Kathmandu Post reports.

PM Oli is slated to embark on a three-day visit to India on April 6—his first since taking office on February 16.

“The talks will mainly focus on development projects. The government has already started finalising the agenda for the visit,” CPN-UML leader and a member of the Eminent Persons Group on Nepal-India relations, Rajan Bhattarai said.

“The bilateral talks will focus on the ongoing Indian-funded projects in Nepal,” Bhattarai said, talking to the media at the Reporters’ Club Nepal in the Capital on Wednesday. According to him, the talks will centre around infrastructure development, electricity, water resources and agriculture.

“We have already informed this to India,” he said.

Integrated check posts at Birgunj and Biratnagar, railway links from Jogbani to Biratnagar, Tarai road project, guesthouse for pilgrims at Pashupatinath Temple complex, and Hetauda Polytechnic are some of the ongoing Indian-funded projects in Nepal.
