Indian Army gifts 20 horses, 10 mine detection dogs to Bangladesh

India Army on Tuesday gifted 20 fully trained military horses and 10 mine detection dogs to the Bangladesh Army.

The 20 horses which were gifted to Bangladesh were trained by the Remount Veterinary Corps (RVC) of the Indian Army.

Major General Nayandev Singh of Indian Army handed over the horses and dogs to Major General Md Humayun Kabir of Bangladesh Army.

The presentation ceremony was held at the Petrapole Integrated Check Post in West Bengal.

The dogs trained by the Indian Army are extremely effective in detection of mines and contraband items, especially narcotic drugs.

Sources said Bangladesh Army will deploy the horses in guard of honour ceremonies during VVIP visits.

The dogs will be deployed in identifying criminals and contraband items at different check posts in Bangladesh.

On December 7 last year, India had gifted 10 trained dogs to Bangladesh.
