In order to deal with the massive Rohingya influx from Myanmar, the Indian government has appealed to the world community to help Bangladesh.
India has termed the influx of Rohingya Muslims a threat to regional security.
According to media reports, India recognized the humanitarian burden of Rohingya Muslims on the neighbouring country’s society and economy.
As per Bangladesh’s state-run news agency BSS, during the Security Outlook 2019 of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Regional Forum held on Friday, India praised Bangladesh’s generosity towards displaced people.

The report said: “India is deeply conscious of the humanitarian and security implications of the displacement of nearly one million people (Rohingya) in Bangladesh from contagious areas of Rakhine state in Myanmar.”
The report also added: “India recognizes the economic burden this crisis places upon Bangladesh’s society and economy.”

According to the outlook report, the stability and prosperity of Myanmar is crucial for the regional security of the northeastern part of India.
In order to facilitate the return of Rohingyas to their original place of living, Myanmar’s Rakhine state, India has provided aid.
Being the chair of ASEAN, Thailand hosted this year’s forum.
Foreign ministers from 26 countries and representatives from United States, China, Japan, India and European Union participated in the event.
Bangladesh’s foreign minister A.K. Abdul Momen while addressing the event sought support and cooperation from the world community so that the process of repatriation of the Rohingyas from Bangladesh to Myanmar can be carried forward in a safe manner.
As per the Amnesty International, over 750,000 Rohingya refugees, including women and children, fled Myanmar to Bangladesh after Myanmar military carried out a crackdown on minority Muslim community in August 2017.
