Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama recently said Chinese students to come to India to pursue higher education.
He also called upon youth of that country to come to India to know how democracy works.
He said this while delivering a lecture to the students of Chandigarh University on the occasion of 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, stated reports.
Dalai Lama said that India has always been a secular country and should not blame or question its democracy on the basis of a few incidents and people.
He also highlighted the deplorable scenario in China stating there were no free media there besides several other restrictions.
Dalai Lama also spoke about the speech of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan at the UN when asked about the relations between India and Pakistan.
The spiritual leader was of the opinion that Imran’s speech was emotionally driven, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s approach was pragmatic.
