Bangladesh will on Friday experience severe cyclonic storm called Fani.

According to Bangladesh meteorological department, the country will be hit by severe cyclonic storm Fani on Friday, Daily Star reported.

Khulna and adjacent districts are expected to witness the effects of Fani from Friday morning and by evening, the cyclone will reach southwestern districts of the country.

The cyclonic storm is likely to come with wind speed from 150-180 km per hour while crossing Bangladesh, the newspaper quoted Met officials as saying.

The signal at Mongla and Payra ports have been increased to danger level 7 and Chattogram port has been asked to hoist Danger signal no 6.

Danger signal no 7 has been hoisted across the coastal lines of Patuakhali, Bhola, Borguna, Barishal, Pirojpur Jhalakathi, Bagerhat, Khulna, and Satkhira.

Danger signal no. 6 has been hoisted across Chattogram, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Feni, Chandpur and the port of Cox’s Bazar has been ordered to keep local warning signal no. 4.
