The 12th edition of the bilateral border trade between India and China from Nathu La Border in Sikkim was resumed on Tuesday for the scheduled period from May 1 to November 30.

On behalf of Government of Sikkim, Secretary for Commerce and Industries Department, SK Pradhan formally declared the trade to be opened for the season. The trading days are from Monday to Thursday and the trade will continue till November 30.

Despite inclement weather in the last few days, the trade opening day was sunny and officers and traders of both the sides reached Nathu La for the resumption of trade for this year. Officials and traders from India and China wished each other a prosperous trade and assured to extend the best possible help to each other for a smooth and peaceful trade.

The opening function at Nathu La to mark the resumption of the trade was attended by officials from Commerce and Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, Customs, ITBP, Immigration and Traders.
