Coronavirus outbreak was predicted in a novel in 1981

The outbreak of coronavirus in Wuhan city of China was predicted in 1981 in a novel titled ‘The Eyes of Darkness’ in which the virus was called Wuhan-400.

The novel was written by Dean Koontz and in it, he wrote that Wuhan-400 was created as a weapon in a laboratory.

This came to light when a twitter user- @DarrenPlymouth- brought up this cryptic reference on social media.

Captioned as “It is a strange world we live in”, the user posted the cover of the book and shared an excerpt from the book which mentions the Wuhan-400.

Following the tweet, netizens had a lot to say on this.

“Holy s**t! I remember this book!” read one tweet.

“Omg….. I remember that series. Scared the absolute life out of me when I was younger!!” wrote another.
