China on Friday rejecting US President Donald Trump’s offer to mediate between India and China for ending the border stand-off between the two countries.
China said that the two neighbouring nations were capable enough to resolve their differences through dialogue.
They did not require the help of a third party, it said.
The US President on Wednesday offered to mediate the raging border dispute between India and China.
He said that he was “ready, willing and able” to ease the tensions.
Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian, reacting to President Trump’s offer, said, “We don’t want the intervention of a third party to resolve the current military standoff.”
“Between China and India we have existing border-related mechanisms and communication channels,” Zhao added.
