Bhutan requested for the supply of essential medicines for a year during Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s  visit to Bhutan in April last year.

The consignment of medicines will be delivered to the health ministry in three phases in September, October and November this year.

“Bangladesh and Bhutan share a special bond of friendship and understanding which rests in history and political leadership since Bhutan became the first country to recognise Bangladesh’s independence on December 6, 1971,” the press release said.
