The third division league- the Dzongkhag League, is expected to feature 10 teams each from Thimphu, Paro, Phuntshogling and Punakha. The competition will be played in respective districts.
The top team from the participating districts will qualify for the Super League.
The report further claims that some club owners have expressed apprehension over the Dzongkhag League. They say the league had a lukewarm response because of attaching less importance to it with lesser budget and matches.
It is learnt that suggestions were forwarded to make the Dzongkhag League available in other parts of the country as well.
The new format is expected to come into play with the Bhutan Super League in April next.
