Bangladeshi man detained in West Bengal while trying to enter Nepal illegally

One Md Haruna Rashid, a 31-year-old Bangladeshi national, was detained by a team of 41 Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

Rashid was trying to enter Nepal via India without any valid documents.

He was detained at Panitanki check-post of Khoribari under Siliguri subdivision of West Bengal on Wednesday.

31-year-old Rashid is a resident of Bekatari village in Gaibandha district of Bangladesh.

Sources informed that Rashid had entered into India on Tuesday via Burimari, Changrabanda, in Cooch Behar district.

He paid an amount of 20,000 Bangladeshi taka to an “agent” for this illegal entry.

He was later handed over to Khoribari police.
