Bangladesh prison inmates will now have the option of eating a healthy breakfast as the country had decide to make changes in the everyday morning meal that had been given to prisoners since 200 years.
As per reports, the new menu will include khichuri, bread, vegetables and sweets.
Bangladesh home minister Assaduzzaman Khan Kamal introduced the new breakfast menu at Keraniganj Central Jail on Sunday.
In order to keep the prisoners in a healthy state, the Bangladesh government had decided to change the old breakfast menu that had been introduced in the country by the British colonial rulers.
The prison inmates of the country had earlier used to receive a small amount of bread and molasses as their daily breakfast.
Apart from upgrading the breakfast menu, the Bangladesh jail inmates are also being provided training in various types of trades so that they can start a new life once they go out of jail and do not get involved in crime again.
The Bangladesh government had also introduced telephone call facilities for the prison inmates so that they can talk to their family if they feel to do so.
At present there are 66 jails in Bangladesh consisting of 11 central jails and 55 district jails.
