The 3rd Joint Indo-Bangladesh Army Cycling Expedition was flagged off at Binnaguri Mili Station in West Bengal on Wednesday.
According to information, the joint Army teams comprise 6 officers, 1 junior commissioned officer (JCO) and 7 other ranks from the Indian Army and 6 officers and 6 personnel of other ranks from the Bangladesh Army.
Informing this on its Twitter handle on Wednesday, the Eastern Command of the Indian Army stated: “3rd Jt Indo-Bangladesh Army Cycling Expedition was flagged off by from Binnaguri Mili Stn, West Bengal today. The jt teams comprises of 06 officers, 01 JCO and 07 Other ranks from Indian Army and 06 Officers and 06 Other ranks from Bangladesh Army.”

The Eastern Command of the Indian Army also tweeted: “The expedition is another memorable step towards cementing bonds between the two nations and the two armies.”
The expedition will culminate at Madhupur in Bangladesh with ‘flagging in’ of the expedition planned to be held on March 25, 2019.
The joint expedition team of the Indian and Bangladesh Army will traverse a total distance of 401 km, out of which 264 km of the distance will be covered in the route from Dhubri-Tura-Dalu as part of the Indian leg and further 137 km on the route of Haluaghat-Jamalpur-Dhanbari-Madhupur in Bangladesh.
The Eastern Command of the Indian Army tweeted: “The team will traverse a total distance of 401 km, out of which 264 km will be covered along route Dhubri-Tura-Dalu as part of the Indian leg and further 137 km along Haluaghat-Jamalpur-Dhanbari- Madhupur in Bangladesh.”
The expedition team members also paid homage to the martyrs of 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War at the Bogra War Memorial.
