The encounter commenced at approximately 6 AM on Tuesday (April 02), initiated by a joint team of security forces engaged in an anti-Naxal operation within the forested terrain of Lenda village in Chhattisgarh.

Regarded as a pivotal security maneuverer in recent memory, this operation has garnered significant attention.

By Wednesday (April 02) morning, a total of thirteen bodies have been retrieved.

Notably, the operation, initiated by a coalition of security units including the district reserve guard, special task force, central reserve police force (CRPF), and commando battalion for resolute action (CoBRA), was executed following intelligence reports indicating the presence of a senior Maoist figure named Papa Rao in the vicinity.

The recent security encounter unfolded approximately a week subsequent to the death of six Maoists in an encounter on March 27 in Bijapur’s Basaguda district.

Thus far this year, a total of 43 Maoists have met their end in Bastar in separate security operations.
