Guwahati: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee on Monday declared the results of JEE Advanced 2026, ending the wait for thousands of engineering aspirants across the country.
Shubham Kumar from the IIT Delhi zone secured the top position in the Common Rank List (CRL), achieving All India Rank 1 with an outstanding score of 330 out of 360. His performance placed him at the pinnacle of one of Indiaโs toughest entrance examinations.
Among female candidates, Arohi Deshpande recorded the highest rank in her category, drawing attention for her strong academic performance.
The IIT Delhi zone registered a dominant performance this year, with Kabir Chhillar and Jatain Chahar finishing second and third respectively in the national rankings, highlighting the zoneโs strong showing.
As per official figures, 1,79,694 candidates appeared for both papers of JEE Advanced 2026, which was conducted on May 17. Out of these, 56,880 candidates qualified for IIT admissions, including 10,107 female qualifiers. A total of 1,87,389 students had originally registered for the examination.
Along with the results, the institute published the Common Rank List as well as category-wise merit lists, allowing candidates to review their standings in detail.
Candidates can check their results on the official portal by logging in using their registration or roll number along with their date of birth and registered mobile number. Authorities have also advised students to download and securely store their scorecards, as these will be required during counselling.
With results now out, qualified candidates will proceed to the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process, which will determine admissions into undergraduate engineering programmes across IITs.
JEE Advanced scores are used for admission across all 23 IITs in India, including major institutes such as IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT (BHU) Varanasi, and IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.
Successful candidates now move toward the next phase of academic admission, while others may explore options in NITs, IIITs, and other reputed engineering institutions.
