New Delhi: Three independent MLAs in Haryana withdrew their support from Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s government on Tuesday, dealing a severe blow to the state’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

With this withdrawal, the BJP administration lost its majority in the state assembly.

The independent MLAs – Sombir Sangwan, Randhir Gollen, and Dharampal Gonder – announced their decision to extend support to the Congress party during the elections.

According to a report by Mint, Dharam Pal Gondher expressed regret over the government’s handling of farmer issues, stating, “We had decided to support until Manohar Lal Khattar was in power, but with his departure, we withdraw our support for the sake of the farmers.”

Similarly, Randhir Golan highlighted rising unemployment and inflation during the BJP’s tenure as reasons for withdrawing support.

He stated, “For the past 4.5 years, we supported the BJP. However, considering the current state of affairs, we are withdrawing our support.”
