Guwahati: Acting swiftly on the violation of the model code of conduct (MCC), the Election Commission of India (ECI) has suspended sub-inspector Dipankar Debnath and police constable Bipin Sen Chakma in the West Tripura district.
Both the personnel of Tripura Police were suspended from service for violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) on Friday.

According to the credible information, the Superintendent of Police, West Tripura Dr. Kiran Kumar K signed the order of temporary suspension from the service of Debnath and Chakma in West Tripura district.
The ECI has been very vocal about adhering to all the rules and regulations of the MCC and any government service employee who is deployed in poll duty has to strictly adhere to the regulations of the MCC and failing to do so will result in immediate suspension from service.
