Special security arrangements have been put in place in the strong room to maintain law and order.

The results of Manipur Assembly Elections will be declared on June 4, 2024.
A press briefing was conducted on Saturday at the DC Office, Lamphelpat, Imphal on the preparations and security arrangements being taken up by the District Election Office, Imphal West for the counting of votes.
The Returning Officer, 1-Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency (1-IMPC) and DEO Imphal West, Th. Kirankumar (IAS); Superintendent of Police – Imphal West, Ksh Shivakanta (IPS); along with Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) attended the meet.

As part of the counting procedure on June 4, the Strong Room will be opened at 06:30 a.m., after which the counting process will follow and will begin from 08:00 a.m. for the 32 Assembly Constituencies in four districts of the 1-IMPC.
Counting for postal ballots and ETPBS for 1-IMPC will be held only in Imphal West.
However, counting for Special Polling Stations for IDPs will be held in various districts concerned.
For Imphal West District, there will be a total of nine counting halls, which include seven counting halls for EVMs and two counting halls for Postal Ballots and ETPBS.
Furthermore, as part of the security arrangement being taken up by the RO, there will be a 3-tier cordoning around the complex and special routes for smooth traffic will be made public, once the counting day is near.
Th. Kirankumar (IAS) and Ksh Shivakanta (IPS) appealed to the general public to render full support to the District Election Office to enable a smooth counting process and to contact the nearest police station for any unwanted incidents.
Manipur has two parliamentary constituencies – The outer Manipur parliamentary constituency reserved for scheduled tribes and the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha seat.
Ten candidates – four in the Outer Manipur PC and six for the Inner Manipur PC are in the battles of ballots. Manipur went to the Lok Sabha elections 2024 in two phases. The first phase for the Inner MP seat went to the polls on April 19 and the second phase for the Outer seat on April 26.
