Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Jalandhar on May 24, in anticipation of the seventh and final phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, where 57 seats, including 13 in Punjab, will be contested.
A 30-second video has emerged on X, showing the Prime Minister waving to a large crowd, purportedly demonstrating the massive turnout at his Jalandhar rally, which is scheduled to vote on June 1.

The video, shared by user @Pb08Waleee among others, included a text overlay saying, “Good Job Jalandhar. Modi Rally Pap ground Jalandhar.”

However, an investigation by Newschecker revealed that a shorter version of this footage was originally uploaded on Narendra Modi‘s X handle on April 3, 2019, showcasing the “Electrifying atmosphere” at his Kolkata rally.

The same video had been circulated by the BJP to depict visuals from Modi’s public meeting in Kolkata during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
This video has previously been misattributed to rallies in Jalpaiguri, Mangalore, and Kutch, and was first debunked by Newschecker on September 3, 2022. The evidence can be viewed here.
Thus, the 2019 video has been misleadingly repurposed to depict a large turnout at PM Modi’s recent rally in Jalandhar.
