Star couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have pledged to donate towards the the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund’ (PM CARES Fund) and the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help the country in tackling the coronavirus pandemic.
The couple announced about their decision through a post in their respective social media accounts.
“Anushka and I are pledging our support towards PM-CARES Fund & the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (Maharashtra). Our hearts are breaking looking at the suffering of so many & we hope our contribution, in some way, helps easing the pain of our fellow citizens #IndiaFightsCorona,” the post read.
The couple has taken to social media several times to spread the message of social distancing, asking people to stay indoors and follow the instructions issued by the authorities.
Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country has now increased to 1024 even as the country remains under a 21-day lockdown announced by Prime Minister NarendraModi to stop the spread of the virus.
