Orang BPHC in Udalguri observed the 198th International Nurses Day under the theme “Health is human right” on Saturday, along with the rest of the world.

A procession was taken throughout Orang followed by an open session in the Orang BPHC. The session was chaired by senior ANM, Champa Kalita and was anchored by senior ANM, Reena Borah.

The session was addressed by Mazbat Circle Officer, Dhritiman Das, Sub-divisional H & MO Dr Manoj Kumar Sarma, Dr. Hemanta Chowdhury, BPM, Pankaj Sabhapandit shed light on the importance of the day and expressed their gratitude for the strong commitment, compassion and dedication that nurses display in the practice of their profession.

The session also witnessed the felicitation of retired instructor, Jogeswar Deka and senior ANM Purnima Das were feted with phulam gamucha and xorai. The session turned lively with the performance of Surabhi Chetia, Nirupama Kalita and Jumisri Sarma who enthralled the gathering through their mesmerizing voice. The programme was also attended by Orang Block Accountant Manager, Biplab Ali Sheikh, ABPM, Jaydeep Das among other health workers.
