Four professional footballers from Sikkim have contributed Rs one lakh towards the to the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support efforts of the State Government against the COVID-19.

ISL players and Indian internationals, Nirmal Chettri, Sanju Pradhan, Bikash Jairu and Robin Gurung have collectively donated a sum of Rs 1,00,000 to the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund on Wednesday.

In their facebook accounts, they wrote, “The Government of Sikkim under leadership of chief minister Prem Singh Golay is sparing no efforts to protect our people from COVID-19.”

“The government is also working hard to ensure minimum hardships for the people of Sikkim during the ongoing lockdown,” they added.

“As a support to the State Government in this unprecedented situation, we would like to contribute a sum of Rs 1,00,000 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund,” they also said.

“We also extend our deepest gratitude to the health personnel, police authorities and all those frontline workers who are working diligently at this moment of crisis,” they further said.

With a message of ‘Stay Home, Stay Safe’, they have appealed the people to stay indoors and not to venture out during the lockdown period so that the great efforts of the frontline workers do not go in vain.
