The outbreak has so far killed over 800 people and infected nearly 40,000 more in China alone.
He also thanked his Chinese counterpart for facilitating the evacuation of over 600 Indians who were stranded in Wuhan and they have been quarantined.
In a recent interview, Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong said China was ready to work with India to safeguard the health and safety of Indians in China.
Several countries, including India, have moved to evacuate their citizens from China and restrict the movement of people and goods to and from the country.
Three persons so far have been infected by the coronavirus, all of whom are from Kerala.
The coronavirus is believed to have originated in a seafood market in Wuhan city in January.
World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared the outbreak as a “global health emergency”.
